Is Stress Affecting Your Memory?

While stress can sometimes be our biggest motivator to achieve exercise goals or accomplish daily tasks, stress itself can affect your memory in a multitude of ways:

1.         Memory Formation - When stressed our minds have a much more difficult time forming short-term and long-time memories.  This affects us physically and clearly makes studying a challenge.

2.         Exhaustion - Prolonged stress impacts the body physically, raising the probability of stroke, heart attack and high blood pressure.  All these conditions affect memory by raising anxiety and increasing cognitive impairment.

Here at TAPA Institute, we know how stressed our clients can become when studying for their CPA or CIA certification exams.  Knowing that stress impedes test performance by affecting memory, we implement stress management techniques in our teaching methods.

If you are struggling to study for your certification exams, we encourage you to sign up for our teaching services on our website at www.tapainstitute.com.
