Recognizing Signs of Stress

Feeling stressed while studying for your certification exam is very normal. However, you do not want to let your stress affect your learning or memory as you study. Here at TAPA Institute, we make sure to help our clients combat any stress they may feel while studying. To deal with any stress, however, one must first be able to recognize any signs of stress they may be experiencing whether it is physical, emotional, or psychological.

Here are some signs of stress to look out for:  

1.      Anger or Irritability

When our body is under stress, we can sometimes feel angry; lashing out at those around us causing us to do or say things we don’t mean. Self-awareness of your emotional overload can contribute to unresolved stress. 

2.      Lack of Sleep Hygiene

When stressed, our body often responds with feeling tense and wired, leading to insomnia or trouble sleeping. If you notice a change in your sleeping patterns work on setting specific bed times and rising times to regulate your Circadian rhythm.  

3.      Problems with memory and concentration

Studies have shown that memory is greatly affected by feelings of distress or anxiety. If you are struggling to concentrate while studying, you may to visit the stressors in your life and deal with them.
